Camp "Finland" for asylumseekers, refugees and immigrants
Camp idea
Camp is planned thinking about the campers' needs, or needs that they see important. We emphasize participants' own initiative. We keep classroom-style teaching to a minimum. Best discussions come when we are doing something together! That is why we organize excursions to local destinations. They are an excellent opportunity to tell about Finland and the Finnish mentality & lifestyle.
Aims of the camp are
- understanding the christian heritage of Finland
- changing misconceptions to reality
- to help the participants to move forward in their lives
Camp programme
Friendly and warm atmosphere helps everyone to be the one they really are and open up. That is the aim of the programme: it includes games and happenings where people meet and get to know each other better. The daily programme is quite loose but in contrast, planned activities are well designed.
In practice, program includes discussions in smaller groups, games, sports and various outdoor activities. Visits to churches, local attractions, as well as football games with Finns...
